TOURS'NMAN

Over the past few years, the Centre-Val de Loire Region has hosted a great number of Major Federal Races (Triathlon and Duathlon GPs, French Championships and Cups…), as well as several international competitions (European Cups and Championships). Organising these events and complying to specifications that can be very demanding reflect the unwavering dynamism of the leaders and players of the League as well as the deep, lasting trust of its partners, private or institutional .

But the picture would not be complete without a great Long Distance Triathlon event…

Great stories often stem from identical, simple facts. Similarly, the idea at the origin of the TOURS’nMAN sparked from a fortuitous conversation between a Triathlon enthusiast and his employer, Tours Evénements, before the values and dynamism shared by these event experts and the Triathlon managers of Indre-et-Loire combined to give it momentum. Nourished by this common passion, the 1st XXL Triathlon in the Centre Val de Loire Region will come to life on June, 10th 2018 and will be celebrated as the major sports event of Touraine.

Building on this success, we will organize this third edition on June 14, 2020.

A MAJOR EVENT IN TOURAINE in 2020!

A choice of three distances:
- L, with its 1.9 km Swim, 90 km Bike and 21.1 km Run;
- M, with its 1.5 km Swim, 45 km Bike and 10.5 km Run;
- S, with its 750 m Swim, 20 km Bike and 5 km Run

Both races are opened to women who will once more prove (at least!) as tough and brave as their male counterparts.

If you have a favourite discipline or one you cannot do, or if you wish to share the fun, you may register as a team composed of a swimmer, a cyclist and a runner.

Because the joy of sport must be accessible to all, both distances are opened to athletes who are not F.F. TRI licence-holders, under the conditions set out in the Event’s Rules of Procedure.

Given the increasing appeal of Long Distance Triathlon and the quality of the organisation, we expect to welcome more than 2,000 athletes on the banks of the Cher on June 14, 2020.

SHOWCASING OUR LAND AND HERITAGE

Cradle of the French Kings who elected it for its ‘douceur de vivre’ (sweet art of living), the Loire Valley and Touraine boast a historical heritage that you will have the pleasure to discover during your stay on the occasion of this sports event.The organisers have done everything they can to promote a territory they cherish.

From the Châteaux of Amboise and Clos-Lucé (20mn from Tours, eastward) to the Château de Chinon towering over the River Vienne (30mn, south-west of Tours), you will discover a string of architectural jewels and sites rich in history.

Cracklings, rillettes, Sainte-Maure goat cheese…, the products and wines of the Loire Valley (Chinon, Bourgueil, Vouvray…) will delight the palate of visitors and athletes.

2 DAYS BRIMMING WITH ANIMATIONS

The Exhibition Center of Tours is perfectly suited for hosting various activities, initiation courses for children, and animations around the theme of Sport & Health. It is also an ideal place to set up a "pro" Expo Village with many different stands, not to mention the catering and chill-out areas.

AN EXPERIENCED ORGANISATION COMMITTEE

The Organisation Committee of the TOURS’nMAN is based on the common dynamism and shared competences of Tours Evénements, specialised in events organisation and operating company of the Exhibition Center, and of the Indre-et-Loire (37) Département Triathlon Committee whose managers, all active triathletes, are recognised for their organisational skills. The Clubs of Indre-et-Loire and their 600 licence-holders will be mobilised and Dominique FRIZZA, employee of the League, will contribute his experience and expertise to the organisation.

PROGRAM

On Saturday, while the Long Distance participants will be completing registration procedures and getting their running gear before dropping their bikes at the transition area, you can take a walk round the Expo Village, taste local gastronomic specialties or encourage your kids and other youths as they participate in the races we have designed for them.

During these two days, you may also stop at the various catering and relaxation stands to discover Touraine and its products or stroll through the Expo Village and visit the booths of our suppliers and partners.
